Let Me Reintroduce Myself: February 2021 Edition

So you're probably wondering where I've been (or forgot who this ReneA chick is). So allow me to reintroduce myself:
I'm ReneA P, Founder and Owner of ReneA's Closet. We are an online consignment shop and upcycle brand--bringing you unique fashions and promoting sustainability. If you're new here: Hi! Welcome!
These passed few months, I had some time to do some major reflection. To be perfectly honest with you, I was ready to shut this whole thing down. I was tired of social media. Tired of taking pictures of clothes. Tired of making content and editing the site (okay, that last part is really my own fault). In the end, I was really, really starting to hate business and regret my entire college experience.
But if you know me personally, you know I am an Aries. Yes I know, what does that really have to do with anything? Well, as an Aries, we tend to be very resilient and headstrong. If I'm told 'No', I seek out a 'Yes.' If I encounter a problem, I find a solution. If you stand in my way, I'll push back! So obviously, while dealing with a lot of emotions and self-pity and a bit of anger towards everything, I some how kept pushing.
I've been dealing with a lot of depression over the passed couple of months. These last couple of weeks were my breaking point!
I started this business with two thoughts in mind: to provide a new selling platform and promote alternative solutions to our over-consumption. I wanted to showcase really quality pieces that elevates your wardrobe. I also wanted to show you that you can breathe life into old treasures!
The purpose of fashion nowadays is to flex, and I personally believe that is the root of our issues. However, you can still flex and stunt on the haters even in a gorgeous second-hand dress or reclaimed jeans. Fashion shouldn't be about labels or how much money you spent on each piece.
It's about self expression! Fashion allows you to speak a million words without uttering a sound. Fashion connects you to your heritage, your inner self, your destiny!
Here at ReneA's Closet, we will continue to spread awareness. Whether you care about helping the environment or not, I still want you to embrace the true meaning of fashion.
