Do Off-Price Retailers Contribute to Textile Waste?

Let’s have an open discussion about Textile Waste and Off-Price Retailers, like #Tjmaxx, #Ross, #DSW, etc. Do you believe they’re supporting Fast Fashion and contributing to textile waste?

Off-price retailers purchase goods and brands from manufacturers, usually surplus products. Independent from brands, they price their products at a more discounted rate.

TJX Companies and Ross are the most popular. Like thrifting, they promote the “treasure hunt” feel.

Do you believe they are curtailing the environmental effects fast fashion has on our global environment, or are they making the problem worse?

Share your thoughts as to why you do or don’t believe so.
